Enduring Nurse Leadership Certification and Prep Course (Prep for CDONA Exam)

This educational activity will outline the role of the Director of Nursing. This program will cover the relationship the nurse leader has with the Administrator and how to communicate within this partnership.
It will explore the new culture change needed within long-term care including a review of regulatory changes, departmental budgets and developing a staffing model within the budget. This program will cover how a facility is reimbursed and the nurse leader's role with the quality measures review.
Clinical systems such as audits, infection control, skin integrity and pharmacy issues will be included. Other topics to be included are preparing for survey and managing employees.
This program will also cover the role of the Nurse Leader in QAPI and survey.
Participants will be eligible for 14 contact hours upon completion of the course. This course will prepare the Nurse Leader who is looking at a DON role or to take the CDONA board certification exam.
Requirements
Participants must view all eleven webinars.
Participants must pass all 11 post-tests with 80% or better and complete/submit an overall evaluation.
All session activity assignments must be completed, submitted and approved by the instructor.
Enduring program must be completed prior to June 30, 2028.

Upon completion a certificate will be awarded. Participants may take the certification exam with or without the completion of the certification prep course if purchased.
