This course is meant for the LPN or RN who is entering the post-acute arena and are looking for information that will better prepare them to take care of the elderly residents living in these facilities. Completion of this course prepares the RN or LPN to take the LTC Nurse Certification exam.

The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Role of the Long-Term Care Nurse

  • Medical Conditions. 

  • Alzheimer’s Disease vs. Dementia

  • Medication Administration, Death and Dying, Skin and Wounds, and Resident Assessments. 

  • Legal Issues and Time Management. 

  • Understanding and Caring for Residents with Different Cultures

Requirements

  • Participants must view all six webinars.

  • Participants must pass all 6 post-tests with 80% or better and complete/submit an overall evaluation.

  • Enduring program must be completed prior to July 23, 2027.

Upon completion a certificate will be awarded with the appropriate contact hours. Participants may then take the certification exam.
