Failures in Advance Care Planning: Content Analysis of CPR-related Immediate Jeopardy Citations in Nursing Homes
This is an analysis of F-tag 678 IJ citation failures that uses a research method based on statements of deficiencies to describe the types of practice failures that contributed to the issuance of IJ citations. Hopefully, it gives DONs an opportunity to see how high quality statements of deficiencies be used in research studies to identify opportunities for performance improvement in nursing homes.
Objectives:
Describe the requirements of F-tag 678.
List the most common types of non-compliant practices identified in the study sample.
Summarize five evidence-based practices for performance improvement that are likely to increase a facility's capacity to comply with F-tag 678.
