Joleann's 52 year healthcare career has spanned from being a CNA to LVN to RN. She has spent the majority of her nursing career in long-term care. She started as a charge nurse in a long-term care facility in her hometown of Corsicana, Texas in 1978 and was promoted to Director of Nursing. In 1989, she was promoted to corporate nurse consultant job covering 2 states. She then held Regional Nurse Consultant, Regional Reimbursement Consultant, Quality & Compliance Consultant, VP of Quality & Compliance, and Divisional Director of Clinical Services positions with various companies before retiring in 2020 as the CNO of PCPMG Consulting overseeing 112 facilities in 12 states.

Joleann joined NADONA in 1994 and has been a devoted supporter of the organization. Her membership has allowed her to become a CDONA, one of the first inductees as a Fellow in 1997, serve two stints as the President of the Texas Chapter of NADONA (1997-1999 and 2022-2026), and become a board certified IP. In February 2026, Joleann was appointed as the Secretary for NADONA board to serve out Shari Carson's term since she was elected President of NADONA.
