Our 900+ members across Minnesota represent non-profit and for-profit organizations providing services along the full spectrum of post-acute care and long-term services and support. We are the state affiliate for the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living, and with our national partners we help members succeed.

In 1947, as now, the profession faced challenges that required an effective advocacy and business support organization. The profession has changed dramatically in all its facets, and Care Providers of Minnesota (CPM) has changed in step. When appropriate—as determined by the membership—the Association provides advocacy, public relations, business, and educational leadership to give its members—and the profession as a whole—the tools it needs to grow and thrive.
The profession has diversified, becoming more specialized and taking on greater challenges. The Association now represents a widely diversified group of providers, from traditional nursing facilities to highly specialized subacute centers and every type of disability services and senior housing provider. The profession has adopted new technologies to cope with evolving healthcare and regulatory and employment environments. The Association has built an online business and job center, and adopted distance education (webinars), teleconferencing, and other efficiency-producing methods to help members meet these challenges.
Care Providers of Minnesota is affiliated with the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) and thus addresses the concerns affecting its membership on both the state and the national level.
None of this change has replaced the core fact of long-term care. At its heart, it is still the relationship between the caregivers and the consumers of care that matters. Among providers, it is the people who make the care good and the system work. The Association is the people in the membership and the staff who devote themselves to improving conditions for the members and for their clients.

Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) represents national and state efforts by nurses and others working to build healthier communities. Our mission is to improve the health of communities through the service of nurses on boards and other bodies. NOBC is committed to increasing nurses’ presence and influence on corporate, health-related, and other boards, panels, and commissions. Now that the Coalition’s initial key strategy to ensure that at least 10,000 board seats are filled by nurses has been achieved, NOBC can now leverage this collective accomplishment to measure the impact of nurses on boards and raise broader awareness that all boards would benefit from the unique perspective of nurses to achieve the goals of improved health and efficient and effective health care systems at the local, state, and national levels.
The Nurses on Boards Coalition first convened in 2014, and later that year publicly announced its partnership and goal to help ensure that at least 10,000 board seats are filled by nurses in 2020. NOBC was created in response to the landmark 2010 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health, which recommended increasing the number of nurse leaders in pivotal decision-making roles on boards and commissions that work to improve the health of everyone in America. The Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initially brought the groups together as part of their collaborative effort to implement the recommendations of the IOM report through the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action.
