CMS Releases Information to Partners for Low-Income Subsidy Outreach

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released updated information on where partners may find high concentrations of eligible but not enrolled individuals, as part of its effort to reach and enroll all Medicare beneficiaries who may be eligible for the Part D low-income subsidy (LIS).  CMS is providing data indicative of geographic areas where a high level of potentially eligible beneficiaries may reside, in order to help partnering organizations effectively target their resources for LIS outreach and enrollment.  These files contain zip code and county estimates of the total number of Medicare beneficiaries eligible for Part D coverage, the estimated number of beneficiaries eligible for LIS, and the estimated percentage of the Medicare Part D eligible population eligible for LIS as of March 2009.
