CMS has released for public comment the draft Model Part D Transition Letter for Calendar Year 2010.  The Transition Letter is provided to Part D plan enrollees when they receive a transition supply of non-formulary drugs.  We made nominal changes to the current Part D Transition letter. The letter has been revised to:  

·         Require language regarding our transition policies specific to enrollees residing in long-term care (LTC) facilities.

·         Provide optional notification language for emergency fills and level of care change-related fills.  

Please provide any comments regarding the Model Part D Transition Letter to Marketing@cms.hhs.gov no later than close of business Tuesday, June 23, 2009.  The draft model Part D Transition Letter is posted at: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/PrescriptionDrugCovContra/PartDMMM.   

We will take public comments into consideration and release a final Part D Transition Letter for CY 2010 as soon as possible.
