May 3, 2009 - Novel H1N1 Influenza: CDC Investigates Human Cases

Dear Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) Partner,

As of 11:00AM ET on May 3, 2009 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed 226 cases and 1 death from novel H1N1 influenza in the United States.  Human infections with this new virus have been confirmed in 30 states at this time.  Investigations and surveillance are ongoing.  As this situation unfolds, the CDC is committed to providing information to its partners, so that you can stay informed and communicate accurate information to your constituents.
